Benefit of Building Muscle in Senior Years

While there may be obvious difficulties with building muscle at a later age, it is not impossible. It may be true that it will be more difficult and more challenging because you are dealing with untapped aging muscle. Not only that, your body has been accustomed to its own habits already and none of them may be fitness-related. As the saying goes, old habits die-hard.

But just thinking about the benefits of a fit body in an old soul is enough to gather all the necessary discipline and mind power to start the day rolling with exercise regimens geared towards achieving good muscle mass.

A physically fit body would show itself through its endless energy. Old age would be more enjoyable if you find yourself capable of walking, jogging or running with the same distance and intensity as your kids or grandchildren. That would be a very cool grandparent out there keeping up with the young set.

Of course, a sound body is always accompanied by a sound mind. That in itself is a motivation to be physically fit.
